My name is Seamus Dolan. I am currently a student at Rochester Institute of Technology studying photography and digital marketing. I specialize in minimalist graphic design and stylized urban exploration photography. I have also done event & landscape photography, logo design, & web development. I am looking for a career in multimedia marketing and eventually creative directing. I am skilled in integrating different mediums into a single vision and in managing large projects. I am also currently studying different the areas of digital marketing, and I look forward to further my understanding on the subject. To supplement my studies I have also been working for my father over my breaks from school doing product photography, and digital marketing through brand and web design.
My photography style and approach to marketing is heavily influenced by my upbringing. I grew up in New Jersey and attended Point Pleasant Beach High School. During high school I was constantly out with my friends exploring our beach side town at the shore, and working odd jobs. This left me with an appreciation for the imperfections of suburbia, and influenced me in how I create my compositions. I enjoy going out into the world to search for my subjects, and finding little corners of the world that I can document. I'm not interested in showing reality how it actually looks, but in creating stylized worlds through each photograph. A glimpse into something familiar with a touch of style and idealization. Finding that perfect shot is what keeps me coming back to the medium, and inspires me to keep pushing my style forward.
The major thing that influenced my character growing up was being a martial artist. From the time I was five years old I attended Paul Prendergast Karate in my hometown of Brick, New Jersey. On top of learning how to defend myself, I become part of a community that instilled values of discipline, respect, and responsibility. I came up the ranks in elementary and high school and in 2021 I had the honor of earning my 2nd Degree Black Belt. This was the culmination of over a decade of training and learning, and it remains this day as my single greatest accomplishment. I truly believe that my time doing martial arts shaped my character more than anything else in my life, and I don't take the skills and lessons I learned for granted.
I am always determined to perfect the details of any given project I may be working on, whether it be a personal or professional photography project, graphic design of multimedia marketing. I am extremely detail-oriented and focused on making sure things get done right, the first time. Efficiency and organization is the key to success in a business setting, and I excel in both of these areas, no matter what part of the project I'm working on. I am constantly trying to learn as much as I can, and my strong sense of personal responsibility and discipline will help carry that through into your company's workflow.
